Correct advice - effective treatments

As well as caring for your pets when they are ill or injured we help you keep your pets healthy and maintain their quality of life. We give the correct advice and supply the most effective treatments to prevent problems now and in the future.

Laparoscopic spays

We are now offering Laparoscopic spays (Keyhole surgery) for bitch spays which reduces risk and improves recovery time. If you are thinking of having your bitch spayed please discuss the benefits of keyhole surgery with any of our veterinary team. They will be happy to advise if it is suitable for your dog. For further information please have a look at our information leaflet.

Effective parasitic control – the correct use of products that work

The most effective treatments for fleas and worms can only be prescribed by your vet. We have a full range of flea and worm products suitable for the lifestyle of your cats and dogs and can give you the correct advice on how to use them. We can also send you a reminder to let you know when the next treatment is due.

Lungworm is increasingly a problem for dogs and is not necessarily treated by all products. Please discuss the correct parasitic control products with one of our vets when your pet comes in for its annual health check and vaccination so that we can prescribe the most effective treatments for your pet’s lifestyle.

Please phone the surgery for advice. It may be necessary for a vet to see your pet if you have not visited the surgery recently to ensure that you receive the best advice.

Small pets

Our vets are confident at dealing with a variety of species, including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and other “small furries”.

Insurance Claim Fees

An administration fee will apply for the completion of all insurance claims. This fee is charged due to the amount of time associated with the administration of a claim following submission. This includes, but is not limited to, contacting insurance companies regarding outstanding claims, processing settlement payments and invoicing the customer for deductions made by the insurer.

Payment of the administration fee is required at the time of treatment, and in addition to any fixed policy excess that is due (where applicable, payment of any co-payment excess, e.g. 20%, will be requested following settlement of your claim). The administration fee is not claimable.

Where the pet receiving treatment is a member of the Pet Health Club at The Vet Centre, the administration fee will be waived.

Insurance Administration Fee: £23.00

Any non-insurance balances, for example vaccinations or treatment of a condition unrelated to that being claimed, will require payment in full at the time of treatment.

Please note, we do not process direct claims for all insurance companies. Please speak to a member of our team for confirmation of those companies with which we will be able to process a direct claim. Where we do not deal with your insurance company for payment directly, we will be happy to assist with submission of a pay policyholder (indirect) claim on your behalf, however full payment must be made to the practice at the time of treatment and before the claim can be submitted to the insurance company.

By offering a pay vet direct claim, we are not creating a contract between ourselves and the insurer. Any shortfalls or deductions made by the insurance company from the settlement, or any settlement disputes, will remain your responsibility. Any unpaid balances may be subject to late payment charges.

Above prices are correct as of 28/05/2024.

Our Facilities

  • Diagnostics
  • Inpatient Facilities
  • Laparoscopy
  • Surgery

We offer a full range of diagnostic facilities to ensure we have accurate assessments of our furry pets.

Our in house laboratory provides same day results for most cases, usually within a couple of hours. A daily courier service enables us to use a specialist external laboratory for more in depth investigations with minimal delay to initiating appropriate treatment.

Digital Radiography

Our digital X-ray unit allows us to obtain a full range of images to assess ill or injured animals from the smallest kitten to the largest Mastiff or Great Dane.

Inpatient Facilities

We have separate wards for canine and feline patients to minimise stress whilst your pet is hospitalised with us. An inpatient camera allows us to monitor your pet on the occasions when a member of staff is not present.

We now have state of the art equipment enabling us to perform keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery on your pet. Most of our bitch spays are now carried out in this way (at an additional cost) leading to less post-operative complications and quicker recovery. It can be used for numerous other procedures including taking biopsies from the abdomen, bladder surgery and removal of retained testicles. Please ask one of our vets if you would like more information.

In addition to facilities for routine surgery we have specialised equipment for orthopaedic procedures such as fracture repairs and cruciate surgery. We also perform most soft tissue procedures in house. Please speak with one of our experienced surgeons if you have any further queries.
