What to do in the event of an emergency

When we are OPEN

If your pet has a problem during our normal surgery hours, please telephone the practice immediately and we will ensure that you are offered an appointment on a priority basis. Please make it clear to us that the matter is not routine and we will do our best to attend to you as soon as possible.

If your pet needs to be hospitalised overnight, this will be provided by our out of hours service at Hart Vets or Vets Now Milton Keynes.

As well as consultations by appointment 6 days a week, we work in partnership with Vets Now Milton Keynes and Hart Veterinary Centre in Bicester, to ensure veterinary help is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Please call in advance of arrival so staff can be ready to help.

Outside of normal working hours your pets will be assessed at Hart Veterinary Centre, Bicester, OX26 2XL (see information below) or Vets Now Milton Keynes, MK7 7AN (see information below). Like The Vet Centre, both Hart Vets and Vets Now are accredited by the RCVS, have the latest technology for diagnosis and treatment of your pets, and have a great team of friendly, qualified and experienced vets and nurses.

Outside of normal working hours your pets will be assessed at Vets Now Milton Keynes, MK7 7AN (see map below). Like The Vet Centre, Vets Now are accredited by the RCVS, have the latest technology for diagnosis and treatment of your pets, and have a great team of friendly, qualified and experienced vets and nurses.

Please note that these appointments will incur an out of hours fee, in addition to, examination and treatment costs and will be payable to Vets Now.

Vets Now is approximately a 25-minute drive away from Buckingham.

Once patients have been treated and discharged all relevant clinical notes will be forwarded to us so that follow-up can be provided at The Vet Centre.

For clients without access to a means of transport Braxci Taxi Service, contactable on 01280 700600, operates 24/7 and is happy to take most pets.
